As staffing shortages persist and resident acuity increases, senior living communities are turning to technology that helps care teams work more efficiently and respond faster to critical events. August Health and Teton today announced a strategic partnership to integrate AI-powered ambient monitoring directly into electronic health record workflows. The partnership represents a significant step forward in sensor integration, enabling fall incidents detected by Teton's computer vision platform to automatically create documentation in August Health's EHR system, eliminating duplicate data entry, and ensuring care teams have immediate visibility into critical events.
"Care providers don't need more dashboards or forecasts, they need objective context where decisions are already being made,"said Katie Grant, President U.S., Teton. "This integration ensures that when a caregiver reviews a resident's chart, they have the evidence needed to act earlier and with greater confidence, without adding administrative burden"
The bidirectional integration connects Teton's AI-powered monitoring platform with August Health's EHR system, analyzing activity patterns without relying on personal identifiers or maintaining full patient records. When Teton's computer vision technology detects a fall incident, that information can automatically flow into August Health’s clinical documentation. Communities using Teton's monitoring have reported up to 40% fewer adverse incidents as a result of this earlier intervention.
Beyond fall incidents, the integration is designed to bring resident insights directly into August Health's EHR. The partnership aims to surface observed changes in mobility, sleep, or daily routines in the EHR, where caregivers and nurses have the evidence to act earlier.
In turn, August Health provides Teton with census data, creating a two-way data exchange that goes far beyond the one-way, read-only connections typical in the senior living technology landscape. This bidirectional foundation positions the partnership to develop new capabilities as both platforms evolve, creating possibilities for deeper integration between ambient monitoring and clinical workflows over time.
"Building bidirectional integrations with sensor companies has been a priority for us," said Erez Cohen, co-founder of August Health. "The senior living industry is adopting monitoring technologies faster than ever, but too often those systems operate in isolation. This partnership demonstrates what's possible when companies prioritize interoperability and work together to eliminate friction for care teams."
This collaboration addresses a critical need identified in the State of Senior Living Report from August Health and American Seniors Housing Association. While 81% of clinical leaders want tools that support earlier action, only 15% have fully adopted them. By designing the integration to work within existing clinical workflows rather than requiring care teams to check separate systems, the companies aim to remove a key barrier to adoption.
The integration is now available to communities using both platforms. Senior living communities interested in learning more can contact their August Health or Teton contacts, or visit www.augusthealth.com or www.teton.ai.
